Snow came and now we have rain, I know I will remember all of this water during the heat of the summer, and I am duly grateful for these blessings. Here is a picture of the snow when it first started falling at my house. There is a story about the night's comings and goings written in the snow.
Merry Xmas everyone, we are about to get some snow here and this cactus shown here from 2010 is flowering again, also has some young uns coming along in another pot.
There is a break in the rains-although there has been flooding in some places. The water table has risen a little, which is good news. My life is getting busier and I have been traveling a little, here is a picture from the forest I went through a few days ago
Here I am again, after a working trip up north. The long awaited rain is continuing-giving this child of the northern skies a remembered touch of depression under the grey skies.
I am seeing such shocking things through Facebook and the internet that I am relieved to remember that I can only do my best, and to be thankful for that. Eventually the planet will recycle itself, as planets do-and there are beings who will be recycled before that happens. I will add a photo from my trip through Jerome to Sedona. Yesterday the drought finally broke with 24 hours of heavy rain, let's hope it continues. This is a picture of a pool in the Santa Maria river from a few years ago.
Ok I am getting re-inspired to make the necessary changes to my book manuscript. So here we go again. Will do it and then blog about it in another post. We are finally in the monsoon and how blessed we are to be having some rain. Today I went to a bonsai class, it was very interesting. Seeing trees and shrubs being trained to grow a different way, indeed becoming beautifully stunted, was an eye opener as after reading the book and seeing the video called The Secret Life of Plants-I realize that plants are aware of and can feel when this type of thing is done to them. This makes me contemplate how humans stunt and distort themselves some times for beauty. What kind of consciousness created that? I wonder.
This weekend was the summer solstice. I followed videos from the 'Unify' Facebook page and watched some of the celebration ceremonies at Stonehenge, they were 8 hours ahead so it was great to be able to watch them during the night whenever I was awake. I visited friends in Cornville and went swimming in the river with them. We all met at a pipe ceremony at Montezuma's Well. On the way home I went by way of Jerome and stopped in the town to look for Facebook friends at their favorite cafe. I took a detour to Mingus lake which turned out to be Elk's Well and took a picture from the top of the mountain overlooking the Verde Valley.
Here is a picture of my new steps, it took a combined effort from me, a neighbor and a carpenter to get them made and moved from the carpenter's place to here. They are made from second hand lumber and some old and new plywood. I painted and stained them.
Today didn't follow the usual pattern, being short on sleep and listening to my refrigerator trying to work-instead of following my schedule for Friday I decided to take care of the immediate concerns. Getting enough sleep and looking for a 2nd hand fridge just in case. Here I am at the end of the day with some unexpected work to go to over the weekend. Cheers til the next time
